Winner of the Ron Prasher Interact Award for the 2009/2010 Year
Out of 66 Interact club in the CO 5450 District the Thomas Jefferson High School Interact Club has been selected as winner of the Ron Prascher Interact Award for the 2009-2010 school year. The Ron Prasher District Interact Award is presented to the Interact Club that is considered to have been most successful in accomplishing meaningful service projects, developing leadership skills, and maintaining strong student participation during the school year. The award was established in the honor of Ron Prasher whose hard work and dedication was instrumental in developing the commemorating this award will be presented to the winning Interact club at the annual Rotary District Conference.
Interact was founded in 1962. It stands for International Action. Interact is a sponsored service club for people between the ages of 14-18. All Interact clubs have to do at least two service projects. One is suppose to serve the school or community, and the other that furthers international understanding. Interact helps develop leadership skills, teamwork, and also helps members grasp a hold of current affairs not only happening in their community, but events in the whole world.

Each Interact club is sponsored by a Rotary club in their district. Thomas Jefferson’s Interact club is sponsored by the Denver Tech Center Rotary. The Rotarians form relationships with their Interact members and lend their enthusiastic support to all projects.
The Thomas Jefferson Interact club has around 30 members, and they meet every Monday in Room 105. The meetings are during lunch, and at each meeting there is a member from the sponsoring rotary club in attendance. The club advisor is Mr. Danny Showers. He can be reached by phone, fax, or email.
