Interact was founded in 1962.  It stands for International Action.  Interact is a sponsored service club for people between the ages of 14-18.  All Interact clubs have to do at least two service projects.  One is suppose to serve the school or community, and the other that furthers international understanding.  Interact helps develop leadership skills, teamwork, and also helps members grasp a hold of current affairs not only happening in their community, but events in the whole world.

Each Interact club is sponsored by a Rotary club in their district.  Thomas Jefferson’s Interact club is sponsored by the Denver Tech Center Rotary.  The Rotarians form relationships with their Interact members and lend their enthusiastic support to all projects.

The Thomas Jefferson Interact club has around 30 members, and they meet every Monday  in Room 105.  The meetings are during lunch, and at each meeting there is a member from the sponsoring rotary club in attendance.  The club advisor is Mr. Danny Showers.  He can be reached by phone, fax, or email.

  • Principal’s Corner

The Interact club at my High School is one of the strongest school clubs I have in the building. I can always count of Thomas Jefferson High School Interact club to play a big role in supporting school community needs, and continuing with their focus in assisting the national and international community. The club officers always display strong leadership and continue to keep their goals clear and within reach. They are a super group of young adults.

  • Advisor’s Corner

The Thomas Jefferson High School Interact club is a great inspiration to work with. As the Advisor for this Interact club I get to work with and see outstanding young adults going at full steam forward to provide dynamic help and assistance to those in need not just on an international level, but national and on the local community level. Each member has a heart of gold and a very clear focus of Rotary standards "Service before Self".

  • President’s Corner

As the President of the Thomas Jefferson High School Interact Club I have received great experience in leadership and understanding on how to provide help to those in need. It's great having a strong officer team that also understands our goals, and knows that we have to work close together to keep out club strong and support the recommendations of our Advisor and our parent Rotary club. I look forward to continuing to provide strong leadership to our organization.
